Add Australia Zoo To Your Queensland Itinerary

Australia Zoo is definitely one of those places you have to add to your Australia itinerary if you are off to Queensland!

Home of Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, this stunning conservation zoo is home to an amazing range of animals, birds and reptiles some of which you can adopt.

Agro the crocodile, Pepe the parrot and Bedara the Cassawarry (amongst others) are all up for adoption. So get along and take some positive action for animal conservation! Whilst you are there, make sure you go and check out the HubPage on the Australia Zoo for all the lowdown and if you are off to Australia, get your own personal itinerary at Tailor Made Australia Travel.

Luxury Australia Travel The Tasmanian Way

Luxury Australia travel has never been more celebrated than it is now and with the advent of the internet, we get to hear more about those fascinating places just itching to be explored.

Australian Gourmet Traveller Travel Awards 2008 have just voted Tasmania one of the top destinations in Australia, picking up five different awards.

"Tasmania has distinguished itself as one of Australia's most prestigious and celebrated destinations in the country." So says Australian Gourmet Traveller editor Anthea Loucas.

The Freycinet Experience Walk was chosen as Australia's best eco-tourism experience by more than 4000 readers. Situated on Tasmania's east coast where you will encounter quolls (native cat), wombats, black swans, sea eagles, seals and dolphins, this walk is a true feast for the nature lovers amongst us! Pristine white beaches fringe the coastline and you won't be disappointed with the stunning wilderness around you.

Also on the east coast is the Maria Island Walk which won the best adventure tourism award, knocking such luminaries as Sydney Harbour Bridge and Western Australia's Ningaloo Reef off the top spot. Again a paradise for eye-catching wildlife and dramatic scenery - perfect for photography.

Ancient forests, mirror lakes and mountain peaks await you at the Cradle Mountain Lodge. Although you are surrounded by wilderness, your every need is catered for in this warm retreat snuggled into the mountains on the edge of the World Heritage Listed Cradle Mountain/Lake St. Clair National Park. Beating world renowned resorts such as Hayman Island, Lizard and Bedarra Islands to the top accolade gives you an indication of the luxury that awaits you in this special place.

Port Arthur also won the top slot for Best Heritage Tourism. Not surprising, as Port Arthur is a very atmospheric place and tells the story of the birth of a nation very well. Not to be missed on your Tassie idyll.

NB. I will post some photos in here later. They are taking too long to load onto the server at present, so I will post the blog and then add the photos later ... Check back soon!
